Choosing the right size bicycle is essential to ensure safe cycling for your child. In addition, you should make sure that the bicycle has hand brakes, as most quality bicycle manufacturers have bicycles with hand brakes. Switching from a foot brake to a hand brake at a later stage is extremely dangerous and time-consuming. In the case of sudden braking, if a child is not trained to brake with the handbrake, he or she will simply swerve backwards and braking will not occur and the situation could end tragically. We would like to make a recommendation here on the size of the bicycle, which depends primarily on the height of the child. Size in inches means the diameter of the bicycle wheel.

12” bike is suitable for children at the age of 2-3.

16” bike is suitable for the children at the age of 4-5 and height of 105-120 cm.

20” bike is suitable for the children at the age of 5-7 and height of 115-135 cm.

24” bike is suitable for the children at the age of 7-11 and height of 130-150 cm.

26”-29″ bike is suitable for the children at least at height of 140 cm.
